Hydraulic platforms from Bolton and Leigh are shown fighting a factory blaze in Blackrod, Bolton. This image (actually a crop from a larger picture) was taken with a medium telephoto lens using available light at ISO 3200. Image noise was minimised in camera and further reduced in PaintShop Pro.

At the time of the above picture, 10 pumps were in attendance in addition to the 2 hydraulic platforms. Around 2000 litres / 440 gallons of water per minute were being used to keep the fire under control.
