The Photos Of Roy Cunningham

This Large Skipper (Ochlodes sylvanus) was seen as I was trudging through some woodlands near Dove Stone reservoir today. It was probably the only butterfly I saw – and I nearly missed this one too!
The Large Skipper can be found throughout England, Wales and in the southern parts of Scotland. Although called a Large Skipper, it is in fact pretty small – the body of this was about 18-20mm long.
