The Photos Of Roy Cunningham

Not just any small white butterfly, this is actually called a Small White (Pieris rapae), although it’s sometimes known as a Small Cabbage White. This particular specimen was seen at Wigan Flashes nature reserve in Lancashire over the weekend.
For the technically-minded, this was shot in aperture priority mode (AV), using an aperture of f14 to ensure sufficient depth of field.
Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mk II w/ Sigma 70-300mm DG OS @ 300mm; Exposure: 1/320th sec @ f14; ISO: 800
