South American Sea Lion at The Tiergarten

A South American Sea Lion (Otaria flavescens) swimming in the pool at Vienna’s Tiergarten zoo – with eyes closed, for some reason! These creatures are native to the coasts of Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina and South Brazil; they grow to around 2.75m and weigh up to 350kg (males).
