Tree Sparrow At Fairburn Ings

A relative of the common house sparrow, the tree sparrow (Passer montanus) can be distinguished by the red-brown cap and the dark spot on the cheek.

This tree sparrow was seen on a branch near the feeders at Fairburn Ings in West Yorkshire at the weekend.
